Our program

ARTENSO, in collaboration with Cégep de Saint-Laurent, is supporting the creation of a program of artist residencies in the college environment. The program is aimed at hosting creator-teachers, artists, and authors, collectives, and organizations in Salle Émile-Legault, in college departments, and in any other spaces deemed relevant and appropriate on or around the college campus.

The primary objective of the residency program is to support independent creation while including an aspect of cultural mediation that offers an opportunity for encounters and exchanges with the college’s communities of students, professors, and professionals. A research program is following the activities to document their effects on all of the stakeholders.

A first writing residency took place from February to June 2020 with the hosting of author Fredric Gary Comeau. Started at the Cégep, it was interrupted by confinement and moved to Facebook.

ARTENSO is a Centre collégial de transfert en pratiques sociales novatrices (College centre for transfer of innovative social practices) affiliated with Cégep de Saint-Laurent in Montréal. Its mission is to promote the general interests and specific issues related to research and innovation in art and social engagement in the field of cultural mediation.
