WHERE DID THE IDEA FOR A COLLABORATIVE DIGITAL SPACE COME FROM?
Although the Internet is full of useful resources for cultural mediators, these resources are not always adapted to the needs of practitioners or easily discoverable. Given that mediators must adapt their methods due to physical distancing we launched the Maison virtuelle project to respond to a need often expressed, and now more pressing, for continuing education. This initiative resonates with the implementation of the Midis_Démos, short classes in digital cultural mediation.
It’s an interactive platform hosted on Padlet, and it gives mediators access to live collaboration and information sharing. We are proposing the Maison virtuelle as a participatory and flexible tool. The form it takes depends on the needs and contributions of the participants. Join in exchanges, share, find resources – together, let’s build up this collaborative digital space!

- To provide guidance in the accelerated transition to digital cultural mediation
- To bring together communities of practice
