A research-creation residency combining the history of 6450 Christophe-Colomb and the socio-ecological transition

In partnership with Ateliers de la Transition

What connections can be made between the history of a heritage building and its new occupants working toward the socio-ecological transition? This is the question addressed in the project Récits 6450 conducted by artist-researchers Ariane Paradis and Marie-Hélène Roch. Through geo-poetic workshops held with the community surrounding the building and photographic collages illustrating the data gathered, Paradis and Roch uncovered the collective narratives forming the identity of the former Académie Sainte-Anne, situated at 6450 Christophe-Colomb in the Petite-Patrie district. To communicate the results of this patrimonial research in a different way, the residency will end with an in situ installation assembling the collages in the form of a model evoking the architecture of the former school.
